Postred at Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2020
And it is LIVE! Annecy 2020 officially started online on Monday and we are super excited to be part of it! It’s a bit strange like everything else nowadays, but as we all try to adapt to this whole new experience, we try to stay positive.
Annecy International Animation Film Festival is one of the biggest and the most popular festivals of animation in the world. It was founded in 1959 and became annual from 1997. This year it has gone fully online.
Little History of Postred at Annecy
Our story with the Annecy Festival started in 2017 when the animation “GENO” by Dato Kiknavelidze was selected in “Short Films in Competition” programme. We loved working on this animation and it was truly a rewarding feeling. This was the first time we became part of such a world and met and talked with the exceptional people from the industry.
And then there was “Fisherman And The Girl”, a beautiful stop-motion animation that tells a story of a father and a daughter by Mamuka Tkeshelashvili. It was selected in the “Perspectives” programme of 2018. Postred made full audio post-production and original music creation for the animation.
But this year, everything is different. You can get festival accreditation and watch all the selected animations from the comfort of your home. Going online has also greatly impacted MIFA (the International Animation Film Market) and changed the way people interact with each other. If before we would come out from different pitch sessions, workshops and go to the cafes for a meeting, now all the professionals in the animation sector are at home and discovering all the vibrancy and productivity of the industry online. There are virtual stands of companies and a possibility to “visit” all of them and interact with the representatives.

Annecy International Animation Film Festival lasts till the 30th of June and we are excited to meet and talk with amazing people from the animation world online! This year Postred is presented on the virtual stand number V.048 along with a production company “Sarke Studio” and Georgian Animators Association “SAQANIMA”.
